Dance Floor Etiquette

Written by Gary Steinberg

Can we PLEASE keep the dance floor safe from:

1) too much talk-Take it to the lounge
2) smoking-If you’re still smoking cigarettes, don’t make the rest of us dodge your cherry
3) rudeness—if someone hits on you that you’re not into, be nice.
4) drinks in cups-spilling your drink all over someones back is not cool! Bottle water/Gatorade is welcome.
5) promoting the competing event or after-party-A sure way to piss off the promoter and get yourself 86’d.
6) chewing gum-will manage to fall out of your mouth and end up on the bottom of someones Nike’s.
7) snide comments-about peoples nationalities on certain sections of the floor.
8) Rolling water bottles around our feet-if you’re too lazy to toss your empty container properly, at least smash it so it doesn’t roll around.

If there are any other items you wish to include on this list please feel free to speak up!

9) We love our Bears both fuzzily cuddly, and freshly smoothly shaved. However for that brief time in between when your a mobile moist wall of coarse sand paper save all your brush ups against us for your floor boards.

Hot women at parties are a cool added mix.  But long wild hair is kinda nasty on a sweaty dance floor. Tie it up girls.

No hogging the risers! If you find a cool place to dance where you can look over the floor, remember that there are others there too! Share it!

10.  Wear deodorant.
11.  Wipe the sweat from your entire body.
12.  Move out of the way from incoming traffic.

No texting or use of cell phone other than video/pics on the dancefloor. Rude to the DJ.

If you like a mix, song, or groove and in most cases the DJ is “letting you have it,” be sure and bounce up toward the DJ booth, make eye contact, and give the Master of Beats a thumbs up, smile and wink, or positive gesture to let them know your feeling the heat and lovin’ the beats. Even better to stay until the lights go up and thank them personally. Means a lot.
