La Roux
La Roux
So some will remember La Roux as, and even she’s been quoted saying this, the performer that everyone ignored at this year’s White Party in Palm Springs. Apparently she took to the stage and no one had any idea who she was, so they all yelled something, turned back to each other, did a bump and then continued having oral sex in the sun. Or something like that. Regardless of how you do or don’t remember it, that introduction to the gay guys didn’t seem to go over so well. Flash forward almost 6 months and you’re hearing her music remixed at all the gay clubs and the regard has been built so that guys are actually waiting for this album to drop. Following extensive remix treatments of the first two singles, “Bulletproof” and “I’m Not Your Toy,” by names like Dave AudĂ©, Razor N Guido, Morgan Page, Dean Coleman, Nima Nas and Manhattan Clique, the floor’s been abuzz with her manipulated vocals atop a rattling bass line.
